help please
Question: Hey guys, I did a bad mistake and had unprotected sex few days ago, right after I felt a tingling filling on the tip of my penis, it's not painful and it doesn’t hurt when urinating. The morning after I decided to look more into it, I noticed a red/purple spot on the inside of my urethra, it looks like it a burst blood vessel, it feels more like a cut with kind of an itching feeling. Now symptoms were right after I was done having sex, and I’m sure if I looked more into it I would have found red/purple spot that night. Do u think that it’s just a burst blood vessel or some kind of irritation? Or is it some kind of an STD symptom??? Do you think 1 day for symptoms to show up is way to soon, is it possible? i went and got tested for all kinds of STDs, the thing is i don’t get any of the results until 10-10-2007. The nurse took a sample of the spot in my urethra, when she touched it i felt some pain, now the spot is still there 5 days after with no other spots popping out on my urethra. i do get this itchy feeling every once in a while but very mild . Thanks Answer: could definitely be an std........could very well be herpes..........make sure to ask the doctor if she did a blood test SPECIFICALLY for herpes, as well as a culture on the spot, specifically for herpes.........because most doctors do not test for herpes when people ask to be tested for "ALL STDS" .....also please know condoms do not protect against herpes and it is still possible to get herpes even if you have always used condoms....so its possible if it is herpes, you have had it longer than this and only now got symptoms, so you didnt necessarily get it from this past encounter if it is in fact herpes. also, if the culture comes back negative, it DOES NOT mean you dont have herpes, it just means that at the time of the swab no active virus was on the skin...if it is positive however, it means without a doubt you have it.....false positives in cultures are almost unheard of. Also, if negative for herpes blood test at first, retest periodically every 6 weeks for a few months and if still negative then its usually safe to say you dont have it....but please, please, please, whatever you do, do not take the negative culture or blood test for herpes on the first testing as being a sure sign you dont have it, because many people do have it and the antibodies dont show up in the blood right away and trust me when I tell you it is better to know than to live in denial and not get retested .....because in the long run, you will give it to someone else and cause them unnecessary pain in their lives, all the while having some thought about it in the back of your mind of the possibility. I hope you dont have it, but please be tested by blood, and retested 6 weeks or more after to be sure......and if in the future you notice anything again let it be a red flag. If negative at first and then in a few weeks/months you test positive, it is sometimes a way to know you were recently infected(within the past few months.....Good luck Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
