sad and looking for answers
Question: I am having what I believe is my "initial outbreak" even though the last time I had sex (unprotected) was over two months ago. I am going to the doctor next week to get tested. If I am having minor lesions in my mouth does that mean I could have "genital herpes" in my mouth? What's the difference between HSV1 and 2? I am very scared and saddened because I am now finding out that my ex-boyfriend had this and failed to tell me. I am very frustrated and depressed, just trying to better understand the virus. I am anxiously waiting for testing next week. Any advice guys? Thanks a lot. Answer: HSV-1 and HSV-2 are almost the same thing, except one prefers the mouth and one prefers the genitals. Yes, it is possible you have HSV-2 (the "genital" kind) in your mouth, although it really depends on what the person who gave it to you has. If he had HSV-1 and it's him you got it from, you have HSV-1 in your mouth. If he had HSV-2 in his mouth, you would have HSV-2 in your mouth. It's also possible he had HSV-2 on his genitals and you caught it in your mouth through oral sex. There are a number of possibilities. You might try checking out the links on the left. There's a lot of really good information there if you're just starting out. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
