Saliva?
Question: Hi, This is probably a really stupid question, and I promise I'm not trolling. Today at work my boss (who has had about 5 cold sores for probably a fortnight) accidentally spat whilst she was talking to me, and the spittle landed on my lip. It was only a couple of minutes later that I could discreetly go and wash my mouth (used a teeny bit of handwash on it too). I'm so worried that I've now contracted herpes- I've heard that one has it for the rest of their life and I'm only 20! Is there a chance that I've contracted it from that? Please help me- I'm really upset about this! I'm so sorry if I should really silly but I know very little at all about herpes. Sarah Answer: Relax. Herpes is contagious, but you really don't need to wear a surgical mask when talking to someone with cold sores. Now, maybe if you gave her a big wet one, you should worry... Also, maybe if you learned a little bit about it, you could stop being so paranoid. You're on the right site. Educate yourself. Answer: Thank you so much for your reply! I was so pleased to read your response- I feel so relieved!! I'm definitely going to follow your advice and educate myself on the topic. Thank you again! :D Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
