Alot of outbreaks
Question: I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Of course it starts with this... I met a guy and we had sex. Two weeks later I had what I thought was a major yeast infection. The thigh area was tingleling and numb all the time. I had a sore throat. I got what looked like small paper cuts on my genitals. There was never and still are'nt any blister like lesions. I began to think it was some kind of athletes foot fungus of the vagina. It took the gyno 6 months to tell me what was wrong. She casually told me over the phone I had HSV-2 and that it wasnt a big deal. After that, I let my life tailspin with depression and not eating right not caring. I thought no man would ever want me again. The guy I was with blatantly told me he didn't give a shit and that 'so what he had it before and to quit whining'. The girl he was with before he gave it to her too. I really wouldn't let this get to me so much but the fact is since I have had sex with this guy, my life hasnt been the same. I have been getting almost monthly outbreaks for the past 2.5 years. I am really trying hard to keep things under control now, I eat a pretty good diet and take vitamins and exercise. I since broke up with this man since he was very abusive and making it worse. I took Valtrex for a year 1 gram once a day and it didnt help at all. Anyone have any advice? The doctors look at me like I'm making things up or with that "oh what a shame" look on their face. They say its very odd that I have so many outbreaks. I was told to see an infectious disease specialist to help me possibly get this under control. I could really use some help. I'm trying my best to get my life on track again...anyone? Answer: a lot of things can cause your outbreaks, even your period, so if your outbreaks come around that time.. that might be it, as well as stress, anxiety, diet, etc etc etc... the thing to do is, find out what is causing it to come every month. you might be one of those people with a mutated version of the virus (ie, its adapted and grown to be stronger~~ which happens with everything) the infectious disease doc can prob tell you if this is correct or not, and might be able to offer you some other meds. It really sux. You're not alone. Answer: Please look up siberian ginseng online but in tincture form( liquid), it has a higher concentration. I tried everything and had outbreaks 1-2 times a month for 5 years and this was the only thing that has helped. It takes a while to build up in your system so dont expect immediate results, give it time. I had recently gone for 6 months without an outbreak and besides that they have slowed down so much to say 1 outbreak per 3-4 months on average which for me is a miracle. Acyclovir did nothing for me also. Do your own research and tell me how it goes. thanks and i hope it works for you too. I am a uk resident and get mine from Holland and Barret. A bottle costs £8.50 and lasts for months. I also take Multibionta probiotic multi vitamins which help me as well. Answer: Hi herpbot, You are definitely not alone here. I have heard of Ginseng being helpful too (both for boosting the immune function and helping with outbreaks). There are also more useful points in this artcle:  Hope this helps, Shenda Answer: Hey guys!! Im new to this thing too but not new to Herpes..Ive had it for about a 2 years now (wow, I cant believe it) and suddenly Im having continual outbreaks..Its been happening for the past 2-3 months now (Its now the beginning of November)..At first I was taking Acyclovir, which seemed to help some, but then I started taking Valtrex about 2 weeks ago, since my outbreaks started breaking through the first treatment..I go to a public health clinic, and when I asked the nurse why I was having so many outbreaks, she said that I would have to go to a specialist and I would probably need to take an HIV test, which is scaring the hell outta me because every book that Ive read (about 3-4) have said that persistent outbreaks are caused by a very poor immune system, which could be caused by something else (like HIV)..I took a test in April which said I didnt have HIV, but now I dont know..I dont want to scare myself, but I need to know why this is happening to me..I dont want to think about suicide or some drastic measure like that, but I need answers!! If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it!! Answer: I've had genital herpes since I was 15 and I'm 48 now. It can be challenging finding out what works at first and what doesn't. Some of the best things I have done are soaking in a shallow tub with 1 cup Epson Salts; making sure my clothes aren't too tight; and staying away from chocolate and nuts and of course stress. (There is absolutely no way I could wear thongs for instance, too much chafing.) The stress part is hard for all of us...excercise, yoga, deep breathing, all those things help. I've also read that Echniacea is supposed to help, and that would help boost your immune system also. Good diet helps your whole body. Right now I have Valtrex for outbreaks, and if I eat chocolate or nuts or anything with arginine, I take 1000mg lysine. It seems to help. Good luck all of you, it does get better.
