Welcome to www.thanktoday.com !!!

I'm new and I need some help.. please.

Question:
Hey Everyone,
I was recently diagnosed with HSV1. I had an outbreak that started as three little cuts which I didn't think came from anything other than rough sex with my boyfriend, but as things out worse and I couldn't even pee without crying I went to the doctor and found out the news.
The doctor prescribed Valtrex and I took it till the medication was over. I thought the outbreak was gone cause I didn't see any signs and I felt 100% better, but when my boyfriend and I had sex I started bleeding and now it looks like I am having another outbreak. This time the outbreak is worse. I hate this feeling...I just want it to go away. Please help me answer my questions if you can..

How long should you wait after an outbreak to have sex again?
Is Valtrex the best prescription out there for this?
What is the deal with Dynamiclear? Does it work?
What is the best way to relieve the itching?
What treatments have worked for you?
What vitamins should I be taking?
I am in college, and going to class during a outbreak is extremely uncomfortable...any suggestions on how to make things a little easier?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much! I hope you all have a beautiful day.

Answer:
ahh.. sorry guys! I have HSV2. I don't know why I said HSV1 (just a typing error I guess).

Answer:
Well, I can't answer all your questions, but I can answer some, and that's a start, I guess.

How long to wait after an ob? Usually about a week after it seems healed is the general rule. Sometimes it feels like it's healed up, but it not quite. Also, heat and friction from sex can trigger a new ob, so use lube if necessary.

Is Valtrex best? I don't take prescription meds, but from what I've read on the forum they work pretty much the same. The cost varies, though. Valtrex is pretty expensive. Others are much cheaper.

Relief for itching? I use hydrogen peroxide applied to the site, several times a day. It seems to dry it up and help it heal faster. Don't use hydrocortisone oitments, though. They can make things worse.

The treatment I've personally had most success with is Neem leaf capsules (2 of the 440mg) daily. There are lots of supplements you can try to help build your immune system and lessen your ob's, but I've found Neem to work well, at least when I remember to take it. A lot of people take Lysine and a whole list of other things, but before you start grabbing at straws, make sure you know what you're taking and how much. Even natural supplements can hurt you if misused. Check out the treatment section of the site for some other suggestions on that and also vitamins.

I know it's uncomfortable, but the discomfort doesn't usually last long. Fortunately, my job requires me to be on my feet, so I don't have to sit for long periods. Try sitting off to one side, maybe with one foot tucked up under you. That seems to help me. Wear cotton undies to let your skin breathe, too. And give the hydrogen peroxide a try. It does seem to help.

Chances are, your ob's will subside dramatically once your immune system has a chance to build up enough antibodies to effectively fight the virus. That's why it's important to stay as healthy in general as you can. Eat well, get enough rest, exercise, etc. From now on, your immune system will be your best friend. Be nice to it. :)

Hope you're feeling better soon. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Or if you just need to let off steam, that's fine too. Welcome to the forum.
