anyone have this? I had this thing going on with my finger for a few yrs and just this weekend a doctor said he thinks it is herpes whitlow. (of the finger) I am really upset about it. I am afraid to touch anything now because I am afraid I will spread it elsewhere. I have not had any symptoms of oral or genital. I am wondering how the heck I could get it only on a finger? is this possible or am I just not showing symptoms anywhere else but will? I am so confused right now. I am hoping to talk to someone dealing with this type of herpes.

I'd imagine that a herpes specific blood test might confirm whether this theory is true. Did the dr take a swab of the possible infection site?
