Question:
The swab test was positive for type 1.
Im a bit shocked but hey, it could be worse! Was screened for all other STIs & they all came back negative.
Can anyone tell me what is the main difference between type 1 and 2? Is one more severe than the other?

If you google "herpes statistics" or just look on the website you will get all the info you need. You know about breakouts and such. Seems like the doctor would have informed you that type one is oral type 2 is genital. Anyway , sorry to hear that but good luck!
