I dont think I can take it any more

Question:
Well I am 18, a girl and i have managed to spread my own Cold Sores and give myself Herpes... unless my dear ex bf (who is being awfully supportive of me) is lying and has in fact slept with someone else... which i really dont think he has...

I am in agony, I bawl my eyes out every time I go to the toilet and I can hardly walk, I am very career minded but have taken the day off work today from the pain, I got to the train station, nearly threw up from pain and decided I should turn around and go home (they think I have a sore back)... I only managed to get to the doctor last night and she doesnt think the medicine will work because its been about three or four days since the start of my outbreak... last night I didnt think it could get any worse but then i woke up this morning...

I have been biting down on a towel when i go the the bathroom but is there anything else you can suggest to relieve me of some pain? Is there any creams or gels or maybe a shot of morphine (joke)

I think if this is how bad it is going to be for the rest of my life i may end up killing myself... I really had no idea how bad people suffered until I got them :(

Answer:
i'm sorry to hear about your pain...search around this place on methods for going to the bathroom.try the sitting in the tub method.as far as you spreading it to yourself,i'll leave that to the experts here as i'm new around here as well.my thoughts are i doubt it,tho it is possible.i've had this shyt for a looooong time, it will get better and more tolerable....less severe and stuff.do alot of reading here and you may feel better about your self, YOU ARE NOT ALONE !!!!

Answer:
Well I would suggest the warm baths everyone talks about; my doctor told me to use baking soda (about 1/2 cup, but I just wing it and add until it looks right :p ) or Epsom Salts. When you get out, *don't* wipe down there, I was told to use my hair dryer (plus, it feels soothing, to me at least) Just don't do anything to irritate the area. When you go to the bathroom, just pat with the toilet paper. Wear loose, breathable clothes. Aleve is great too for the body aches, it works for me when tylenol or aspirin don't.

I was also prescribed lotrisone cream, which helped with the raw skin and itching I have, but not so much with the sores as far as I can tell. My boyfriend and I want to try the L-lysine and I also plan on calling my doctor first thing in the morning and make an appointment for a consult for us to go to, since we both have a lot of questions.

Hope you feel better :)

Answer:
Oh, also I've figured out if I spread my skin apart down there it's a lot less painful to go pee, since the urine isn't hitting anything on the way out. Leaning forward a little bit helped me too. Try it, hope it helps.

Answer:
Don't think about killing yourself. I had it for many years. The first year is the hardest. Actually I did not even know what it was at that time. I took antibiotics for it, doctors told me its a bacterial infection. They helped the pain, but still. It did not bother me very often after the first year may be 2 3 times a year and not for more than 3 days, but recently stress hit. For first time in my life I am on antivirals and supresive therapy helps, so if the pain is unbearable try supresive, but it will take a little time for it to work, but if you can't take it emotionally it helps, until you decide if the side effects worth it for you or if you want to try alternatives.
I just think that we are so lucky to be born in this time, emagine 50 or even 30 years ago, I am sure people had it as often as today, but did not talk abou it, and there were no meds, no herbal suplemets sold openly on the market.
Just see what works for you don't give up
