paronychia infection giving genital herpes?

Question:
Hey, about a week ago I had a paronychia infection on my finger and my girlfriend and I were "touching" each other right before I had the infection on my finger. Ive never been tested for herpes so I am not sure if I have them but I was wondering if i spread her an infection for it to be genital herpes. About two days after my finger was infected, my girlfriend had her first outbreak, I was wondering If i caused this by not being tested or was it possibly my finger?

Answer:
oh yea we've been together for 3 and 1/2 months if that helps at all

Answer:
I think you should go and get a blood test and this will answer the question of whether or not you have hsv.

Do you have herpes whitlow? is this why you are concerned that you could have spread it to her this way?

Answer:
yea im def gunna go for my own sake but I have no idea what herpes whitlow is, I was just wondering because its ironic how once my finger was infected, her outbreak was a few days after

Answer:
usually a paronychia is caused by what people call a "hang nail" or when you pull a part of the tissue away from the nail which can cause a small infection. The infection is not caused by the herpes virus it is bacterial.

There is a condition called Herpes Whitlow which is when someone gets a herpetic infection on their finger or other body part such as an ear. This is usually contracted during contact sports such as boxing or wrestling where you might come into contact with someone's oral herpes infection or coldsore.

A quick otc treatment for a paronychia is soaking the hand in warm epsom salts water. This won't do anything for Herpes Whitlow.

I rather doubt that your paronychia caused her vaginal infection. Did she get diagnosed with herpes?

Answer:
yes she did but I was wondering if i did give it 2 her unknowingly why did this show not until 3-4 months after we got together?
