Question:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am new to all of this, and last week i didnt even know what i had but i have been doing alot of research and now i am positive that it is herpes, i have a doctors appointment tomorrow but i have already had this for about a week, but i was just wondering. My current partner, is only my second sexual partner, he has never had any signs or symptoms of this so ofcourse we were unaware we needed to be extra careful...well until now. But the first time we had sex was back at the end of july...and i did noticed for the past while we have been together that i sometimes had a burning feeling down there and little "cut" like things, but they would go away within a few days so i thought i maybe needed to use lube. But now i just got the worst outbreak ever and came out of nowhere. I was just wondering, and i know that nobody will have any way of knowing this for sure, but is it possible that i have been infected since july or august? and that im just not having my first outbreak? cuz if that is true, could it mean that i may not get too frequent of outbreaks since it took this long for my first one? and also i was wondering, last thursday I got a mumps vaccine which is also a virus, and i was thinking that might be affecting my recovery time because my body is trying to fight both viruses, as the shot was a "live vaccine" i have been feeling really run-down and horrible lately. anyways im sorry i have typed so much i am just desperate for answers, and my doctors appointment cannot come soon enough!

Answer:
Chances are those little cut like feelings were your first ob and for some other reason you are having a bad ob now (stress, wrong foods, partying?)...I had a similar situation where for over a yr I was experienceing these little cut type things in the same general area and thought they were something else until recently I had a worse ob, not horrible but significant enough for me to go to the dr. You need to go to the dr. asap so they can so a swab of the sores. If they tell you they can't b/c they are too dry or whatever get a blood test and come back immediately when you feel or see one of those pesky things appear. And yes, it is common for ppl to not experience symptoms for months or even yrs and many times they are so mild that they are confused with other skin issues like I did.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Answer:
that does help alot, and i think maybe its a combination of stress and partying because finals are coming up and i have been really stressed with all of my papers for the end of the term and last weekend i had wayyy more to drink than i usually do, and i was sick like all day, so maybe that triggered it becuase i was so run down and my immune system could not keep it in check? All i know is that i hate this so much and i hope that i dont get these very often, and if i do, they arent this bad because this has been pure hell!

Answer:
but anyways thanks so much:)
