hsv 1 & 2... btw most drs. suck at detecting herpes

Question:
So as it turns out I have hsv1&2. As I suspected I have had this for over a year with minor symptoms that were confused by myself as well as doctors for other things. Now I am really stressed and confused about how I got this and how I am going to tell my bf. I may have very well gotten it from him, but I don't think he has been unfaithful and I also don't think he has been getting obs. But i guess i wouldn't know because he has no idea i have been having obs since i don't tell him every time I have a "pimple" or "irritation" near my privates which is what they were supposedly. I am also really upset that at least 2 drs. let me continue my life thinking I had some razor irritation or a pimple. If you happen to come onto this site because you think you might have herpes get it checked out by a good reputable doctor and make them swab it, my current intelligent dr. has informed me that in the medical community they are only now starting to do more rigorous testing for herpes because it is taking on these "atypical" forms, where they are not the typical blisters. They can look like a pimple or a tiny paper cut or tiny sore. They may not appear in clusters and can be one single sore. Thats how mine are. Blisters? Never. He also said that since I have had hsv1 for about 10 years my hsv2 ob will be less severe. Yeah, how about barely noticeable. So minor even drs. would dismiss it.
And now how do I tell my bf of almost 3 years that all of a sudden I have herpes. How is he not going to think that I cheated on him? Maybe he cheated on me? Maybe he's had this and never told me or is experiencing minor obs and doesn't realize that its gh?
I'm sorry I am ranting but I need to get this off my chest.
Thanks for the support. I don't think i could have gotten through these past couple of weeks w/o this forum. Just knowing that there are other ppl out there dealing with the same relationship issues, health issues, emotional issues as I am is a relief. Its good to know I'm not alone.

Chloe808,
I know how you feel. My own symptoms have not been the usual kind either. They were supposed to last a few days or a week or two at most, but they've not changed since they arrived about five weeks ago. And they're not quite blisters, either. The MD that looked at me was as puzzled as I was. I'm going in for a swab test in a few days. Maybe get this settled once and for all.

Answer:
So I'm confused... Did you have hsv1 and know it and now you found out you have hsv 2??? Or what? I remember having a little papercut thing once after a doctor gave me 2 pelvic exams. It hurt so bad. But my doctor said it was just a little cut. I dunno?? I hope you get through this. Let us know!
