Hi to someone out there... Ive read so many research articles, but im still scared. Ive had HSV 1 since I was young, but now the Dr says I have a HSV2. I have never had symptoms, just a constant outbreaks or oral blisters. . the test was called Herpes Simplex, it was blood test. Ive read that HSV1 and HSV2 share the same DNA and that blood test only show antibodies.

Could I have HSV 2 genital herpes or is it possiable I have HSV2 Oral?

How could I have HSV2.. my partner has never had either and he gets tested all the time..

Im scared.. I might give something to him.. HELP!!

the blood test says greater than .5 for hsv1 and hsv2. but its was herpes simplex not the accurate test.. ?? please help

i had herpes since i was a kid, i dont no were i got it from...but i got a picture from age 6 or 7 with the stuff around my lips...in fact most of my pictures have that on them...my sister also has it (she is mentally disabled) which is even worse, but for some reason her immune system is really REALLY STRONG...and her outbreaks heal really fast. I got shingles at 17...and about 5 months ago i had like this rash or something around my bung hole...lol i dont no if it was herpes but i did get a headache and lymph nod increase before they popped up...i sent a pic to a doc and he said it looked like bacteria...maybe cuz it was hot a sweaty down there loool


anyway just take it easy, dont be scared it is not the end of the world...i think i have an idea of the embarrassment you probably went through so you can probably deal with this one...i am kind of putting of sex and dating for a while till i can get this stuff really under control or find a person that will understand...or i jsut hope something happens with in the next 5 years...hehehe

The "Western Blot" is the best one. I haven't heard of the test you named. Herpes Simplex is the name of the virus itself. Could you have meant "Herpes Select"? That is the name of one of the common blood tests.

You mention your partner gets tested all the time. Unless he asks SPECIFICALLY for a herpes test, generally when you tell your doctor you want to be tested for "all stds" HSV is not included. You might suggest he get a copy of his last set of tests to know for sure if HSV was actually included or not.

It's possible you have HVS1 and HSV2 orally, and until you have an outbreak, you really just can't tell.

He does get tested for HSV1 and HSV2 and it is always negative ..im not sure what the test it called ..that is just what the nurse told me, thank you for the information
