herpes tests
Question: What should I do if I want to be blood tested for both 1 and 2. I'm sure I don't have 2, maybe 1, but when I go to the doctor and start asking about it, they always deter me from getting the test, saying there's really no reason to since I don't have symptoms. Does anyone know if these tests are covered my most insurance? Answer: Did you think of pointing out to your doctor that herpes doesn't often have symptoms?! As for insurance, where to get a test etc, well that depends what part of the world you live in. Answer: Why don't you just telll your doctor you want to know what your hsv status is especially since you don't need to have symptoms to test positive. As for insurance, I have a PPO that paid a huge portion of my first culture for hsv, gonorrhea and clamydia which the lab charged the ins. company around 500. and I paid approx. 16.00. But it's been 5 weeks since my blood test and I've yet to get the bill from the lab so I don't know what my portion will be yet. I assume it will be here soon, if you want to know. My doctor said my portion would be more if I were just exposed and didn't have symptoms than if I were getting one for a diagnosis. She gave me the lab order and got the results in approx. 1 week. Answer: if you have a local health dept they should do the tests for free I'm going thu to be tested for everything including herpes again for the third time even though I had a negative result for both 12 wks following the first test Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
