is this a symptom?

Question:
I don't know if this is a symptom of herpes so if anyone knows, please let me know.
I have what started out as a blister on my upper thigh/groin area near my genitals. At first I thought it was just a pimple or ingrown hair, but then it must have popped because for the last two days it has been leaking a light brown fluid. When I press on the area around it, it also leaks a little blood as well as the fluid. It hurts like a cut or something and now also is a little tender around the area like a sore muscle.
Is this herpes? Could it be and should I see a doctor? If it is, I don't know how I got it. I've been with the same girl for over two years, so I don't even want to know how I could have gotten it.
I'm worried, so please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank You

Answer:
Nah, that's not HSV.

Sounds like a sebacous cyst, or an ingrown hair that got infected or something.

Once in a while I'll get one and it takes a while to go away.

I don't know that it ever really 'leaked' unless I tried to pop it, but.... if I'd squeeze it, could get some brown puss or blood from it.

Anyway...

I wouldn't worry about it. I guess I can't say I'm 100%, but from everything you describe, I'd say no way.

Hello, I sort of have a similar situation. I think I'm just paranoid because I found it this morning. Anyway, yesterday my little brother told me he had a "pimple thing" in his groan area, and when he popped it oozed pus for a while. He didn't mention the color of the pus though. My first reaction was that it was a cyst or something (I barely know what cyst's are. I'm 18 btw). Anyway, I woke up this morning and had something very similar to what he was talking about in the same area of my body. I then thought it was herpes because I didn't think cysts or ingrown hairs could be transfered. I'm still a virgin but he is not. So I thought maybe I got herpes from soap or something that we share in the house.

Or maybe it's a strange coincidence that we both got ingrown hair in the same spot two days from each other...

Or maybe it's a strange coincidence that we both got ingrown hair in the same spot two days from each other... Hi,

I think, it's a strange coincidence that you both got ingrown hair in the same spot at the same time.

Having pimples or ingrown hair is very common. Many people get one. Especially at such a young age.
Besides, you don't get herpes from soap or some kind of inanimate object. You get it by skin to skin contact.

I don't think yours is herpes... :D

Answer:
Well that's good news. But I just thought it was so strange because I had never had a pimple there, or an ingrown hair anywhere before, PLUS my brother had the same thing in the same spot  Bah, maybe I'll pop the thing tonight after work and see what the hell comes out.

I have another question though now. (I don't know much about herpes) Are herpes popable? I should probably read up about herpes. I read some of the Valtrex site this morning before I came here and it said like 1 out of 5 people above the age of 12 have herpes. That seems a bit extreme :?

Answer:
yesterday my little brother I'm still a virgin but he is not DOOOOde... Your little brother is getting action and you aren't?

(I'm just teasing you)

You've got nothing to worry about... You don't have HSV.

Although you could REALLY scare your brother into becoming a born-again virgin by convincing him he's got HSV! (OK, I'm kidding there too)

:P :P :P :P :P :P

Just remember use your little scare as motivation to wait til you are in a committed relationship, wrap it up when you do start getting laid, and wash yourself right after sex.
