IGg test positive = 100% HSV II?
Question: Would a positive testing on HSV II IGg test indicate 100% that one has contracted HSVII? Would any other reason the body will produce the same antibody if one were not infected with HSVII? Answer: you could have another test to see if you get the same result - sometimes errors do occur. There is no reason that you'd have antibodies to hsv2 if you have not been exposed to it. Answer: No blood test is 100%. A positive IgG HSV2 test is about 97% accurate. However, there can be exceptions to that, and it's recommended to retest for confirmation. Regards Mr Smith Answer: But are there any possibilities that antibodies for HSV2 are produced by the body other than one has been infected with HSV2?
