New guy, please help... Worried.
Question: More than nine months ago a partner got some of his semen in my eye that I quickly rinsed out. I have not had any sexual contact since. I am worried herpes or other STD's have been transmitted this way. Of course I'm concerned about HIV as well, but was told by two doctors that semen to eye transmission of HIV was highly unlikely. Over six months after the above sexual encounter I had mucus in my stool, This mucus happened only once, I was under extreme stress and had just eaten a meal that hadn?t agreed with me. I chalked it up to an irritable bowel and it has never happened again. I have also been having extreme stress recently and not too long ago three cold sore blisters developed in the crease above my chin and bellow my lower lip, on my face rather than around my mouth. They were painful, cracked open and then healed. This has only happened once before many years ago at another point of extreme stress, same blisters, same place. In the last month and a half I first noticed that the head of my penis seemed swollen, yet not painful. I feel a very mild, dull, (sometimes even pleasurable) pressure around my anus. My testicles ache slightly now and then, I get light sensitivity eye headaches, my upper legs ache a bit as does my lower back and when I cum the release feels way more intense than usual. Often after a bowel movement I feel a sort of ?sexual pressure? and have an overwhelming need to masturbate as soon as possible to relieve it. Although, I show no genital or anal sores, a few small zits / ingrown hairs have appeared then healed on my thighs and butt. I didn?t think much about it, but I?m wondering could I have given myself genital herpes by possibly unknowingly rubbing my chin then masturbating or from the sexual encounter? I?m also wondering if these symptoms are more like a problem with my prostate? All this said, I am a worrier, tend to be neurotic and string a bunch of events together that may not belong together. The above events happened over a nine-month period. Could I have gotten herpes and not had any symptoms until a month and a half ago? Above all else, my anxiety and stress are hurting me the most and I am trying my best to deal with them. Answer: HIV test was neg. Whew! Doctor thinks I have prostatitis and that may be. I'm still wondering about the herpes like symptoms? Answer: I wouldnt worry too much about herpes. Get a blood test if you want to be sure. Since you have HSV1 orally, the chances of a genital infection are pretty slim. If you're clear for HSV-2 on a blood test you're probably cool. Stress can fuck you up though. I had EVERY symptom of Hepatitis C that mysteriously subsided after a negative blood test. Interestingly enough those were also symptoms of stress. Hmmmm. Answer: Since you have HSV1 orally, the chances of a genital infection are pretty slim. Why is that? I'm not sure I understand. Answer: It would be great if somebody could explain more to me? Can I pass it from my own face to my own genitals? Can the first outbreak happen over 9 months after a sexual encounter? Can it sometimes look like zits then heal? Or do they always form into blisters then heal? Are these just zits? Would I be wondering or would I KNOW WITHOUT QUESTION, because of how it would feel? Does my situation sound like anything anybody can relate to at all? Thanks so much! Answer: autoinnoculation is rare unless its when a person is initially infected...meaning if you've had it for years your chances of getting it in another spot later are pretty slim. Lesions judging from most pictures posted online seem to be "worst case scenario"....it could look like anything on the skin. If you're really concerned the only way you can find out for sure is to either get the culture done when you do have a sore...otherwise take another blood test. If HSV2 came out negative, then you dont have that...however, there is a slight possibility you also got HSV1 genitally but its not very likely. All in all it doesnt sound like herpes, and you might want to discuss it with an internist to see what else it could be. Answer: The person from the nine month old sexual encounter tested neg for HSV2 and my doctor told me it is impossible to have a first outbreak nine months after an encounter. However I recenty shared a bed for four nights with a friend while on a vacation. We shared the bed, sleeping in boxers, overlapping limbs at most, no sex, no spooning even. We may have shared cups, shower towel etc. He had the flu or so he thought, (we stopped sharing cups and forks at the onset of flu symptoms) we've now found out he has HSV2. He had no outbreak as in blisters though, just fluish feeling. I got the same fluish feeling 3 days after the vacation and was followed by the rest of the symptoms I have posted... Now I really think I have HSV2, tests come back on fri. Can you get it through no sex, but sharing close personal space? This seems so unlikely from all the info I've read on the site. Was I that unlucky that I got an STD without the sex?!?! My roommate got the same fluish feeling right when I did. All this has me worried. Most of all. I'm happy I'm HIV- and healthy otherwise. I think if it turns out I do have herpes yet remain pretty free of symptoms, I can TOTALLY deal and be happy. All of your thoughts on this post are appreciated so much. Answer: I have been told that yes yu can get H from a towel if the person infected had just used it on the infected area and then you used it right after. Also, i believe you can get it orally from sharing a cup if they have it orally. Answer: OK, so the Dr.'s haven't bothered to call me back and said that if they take a long time to respond it is because the tests are most likely neg, that they get to the more important results first. I?m still wondering could I have given myself genital herpes by possibly unknowingly rubbing my chin then masturbating although, I show no genital or anal sores? Dr. says 'near impossible.' He also says, 'Two zits on your leg, back pain and the flu ARE NOT HERPES!' Can you have contracted herpes and not show first symptoms for years? If I have herpes and my outbreaks remain a zit here and there can I just self treat say with Lysine? Please, advice? Thoughts? Thanks Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
