Hi, I just recently found this site, having been sent here by Lasmom. I have had the herp since 95 and I never had a huge issue with talking about it. I think that for a man to tell a women is easier. Because women are more understanding than men. I had been activly dating for months trying to meet the one. I think I went on a first date every 4 days. I must admit to being a hairs breath away from giving up and remaining single by design. Then as it always happens, I met someone....Lasmom. And so now I know that there is someone out there. If I had givin up, it would have been a mistake. Never quit trying, I have told people, [I have herpes] who've never spoken to me again. I say it's their loss. I am no less a person, no less a man. If the quotes are true then this had made me stronger and [at least] more understanding, accepting of others. If any of you want to talk to someone about it. I have been around the block once or twice and would be glad to talk.

He is great, I wouldn't have found him if I hadn't found my friends here - specifically Faith, Pilot, Black Orchid, I could go on - superior friends for realistic advice - love to all...

I'm so glad... you and Lasmom found each other.
And Lasmom is a great person, I've know her a "bit" longer than you, but she's always been honest, and a great friend! She makes me laugh all the time ( as you know, she keeps joking!! :D ), too! I just love her!!!

So J, just curious... Sounds like you have gone on dates alot... Do you ever 'tell on the first date'... I have once, but it wasn't really a first date.... But I've thought about doing it more.

I usually wait til I think I have a connection with a girl to tell, and have been successful in never having it be a deal breaker.

I've started to ponder being a little more daring and telling when I first meet a girl I'm interested in, instead of waiting a couple weeks.

Almost a little personal social experiment with myself cause I'm curious if the response I get would be less favorable then telling after I've been dating them for a couple weeks.
