Question: Hello again, Thanks to those who posted. It helped. Heres another dumb ass question but I have to ask. The reason I asked about coldsores was because I got a small bump (about the size of a pen tip) on my upper lip. Right on the border of skin and lip. I freaked out. But it was so small and when I woke up in the morning it was gone except for a microscopic raise in skin that looked like the bump deflated. Now can this be a cold sore? I mean it came and disapeared within 24 hours without any pain or discomfort?? Answer: It could have been.. but it might not have been.. thats where i usually get them is just on top of my lip.. where my lip ends and the top skin begins... but mine usually spreads and get bigger.. if yours went away in 24 hrs.. i don't think it is..( you could always get tested to make sure) mine are usually worse then what you've described.. and they stay for 1-2 weeks.. so you are a lucky guy Answer: Also could have been just a pimple.... I get them there - Answer: That is the EXACT place where you would typically get an coldsore... But then again, its a very likely place for a pimple or blackhead or something.. BUT the fact that it came and went in 24 hours.. That makes me think it isn't HSV. Answer: ....inside of your mouth? it may be a dumb question too, but.. i get those all the time. they start off as small bumps on the inside of my cheeks usually next to my gums. and they break open and sting so bad.they close in about a weeks time. is this a cold sore? does oral herpes only outbreak on your lips? or inside your mouth next to your gums as well?
