herpes possibility..what do you all think?

Question:
First off, I wanna just comment on how awesome that there is an online forum for people with questions. Kudos to the site and the members!

For the last few weeks I have notice a "patch" of red small blister type things on the one side of my penis. the patch about the size of a dime. The "blisters" are very hard. The blisters are completely painless but sometimes feel a little irrated. But that might be because I am inspecting them on a daily basis and stretching the skin around them.
I noticed them shortly after I did some "yard work" in the southern region.
I havent has sex since the end of june, and it was always with protection.

I have a good friend that has herpes and asked her about it. She claims that herpes is VERY painful and she also gets flu like symptoms durning out breaks. I have not over these. The actual line she used was "if felt like my crotch was falling off".

I will freely answer any questions that will help you out.
I will give it the weekend and if nothing looks better I will head to the doctors.

Thanks!
Scott

Hi Scott,
welcome to the forum! Thanks for the humor... your reference to "yard work" made me laugh
I'd have to agree with your friend, in my experience Herpes is initially very painful. However, I have heard of others having less severe outbreaks... so, it doesn't necessarily show up the same in everybody. Your best bet would be to go to the doctor and get it checked out. Even if it's not Herpes, you'll want to find out what these bumps are. and hey, maybe it's nothing to worry about. but that's always good to hear from a doc
good luck, and remember the support is here for ya if needed.

cindylouwho;

thanks for the warm welcome. I just re-read my last post and noticed a sentance or two didn't make sense...my apologies.

I've been doing research on the net the last few days and this is what I came up with:
Some of the pictures I've seen look *kind of* whats going on, but others ain't even close.
I feel fine. The only symptom I am having is a headach, but I've been battling bad headaches for years..since high school in fact.

After thinking of it, I though razor burn would be a better explanation, but I never heard of razor burn lasting three weeks!

I am also glad i gave some humor. I am a firm believer that you gotta laugh about things in life...it makes it easier!

Answer:
research molluscum...i was once diagnosed with herpes to find out later it was something called molluscume; which are hard raised bumps with a small dimple in the center.
