Can anybody help me?

Question:
I have noticed that people are trying to answer people regarding their questions. I was wondering if you could answer mine...Recently, about a week ago I have noticed really bad smell-odor from my vagina, and the discharge of course. However, as I have been suffering from all kind of infections(not STD's)that a woman can possible get, including the cysts..etc.from my early teens, I just thought I was getting another infection. Then, after my period, I found a small white spot, not inside my vagina just well on the border of the bikini side. It looked like if someone has got an acne spot, it poped and that is it really. I can still see and feel it was there, but the white filling is not in there anymore. I have a boyfriend, and I do trust him,but I am away, doing my studies in a different country. Last time I was with him was exactly about two weeks ago. Back then, I have not noticed anything on his penis at all. Now, as I still can smell this bad odour and the discharge and if I put it together with the fact that I have had a sex two weeks ago and I got the spot...I am really scared that I have got herpes...could that be?Please can anybody give me your opinion?

Answer:
Hi Arianna
I don't have much of an answer for you, but you sound scared and I wanted to offer you some support...
I didn't think discharge/odor was a symptom of Herpes? I didn't experience that, and I don't remember reading anywhere that to be a symptom.... ?? (maybe I just missed it somewhere? or maybe it's a symptom of something other than Herpes?)
As far as your boyfriend, it's great that you trust him, but you need to know that some STD's don't show up right away. Especially Herpes, it can be dormant for some time before symptoms show up... so if you DO have it, it doesn't necessarily mean that you got it from the last time you had sex because symptoms are showing up now. So if you find out that you do have something, don't jump to conclusions that you've been cheated on... that might not be the case. AND... it also isn't really reassuring that you didn't notice anything on his penis last time you were with him, as someone can sometimes be shedding the virus when not having an active outbreak. :( I know most of this isn't very encouraging news. sorry!
but it all brings me back to your symptoms... it's always a good idea to get checked out by the doc. you may have something else going on, either way, you should see your doctor to make sure.
good luck.
