About a month ago a noticed what appeared to be a in insect bite\pimple looking thing about 1\2 in. above my penis. I was able pop it and it went away. IMmediatly after I saw it I called my girlfriend and asked her when her last STD test was. She said it was 2 months prior and that she was clean. The following day she saent me a text message saying that she was going tot he doctor and if she hand anything we were through. She said she was clean once again. That was a month ago. Last week I noticed tiny bumps on the underside of my shaft and didn't think anything of it. Then 3 days ago I realized that they looked like pictures I had seen of simplex. I have not noticed any unusual itching or burning of any kind. The only other symptoms I have are an upset stomach and a latent cough. This has been killing me all month and today I talked to my mom about it who took it suprisingly well and was supportive of me. I can't sleep this is so horrible. I keep thinking if I have a an itch or if something is irritating my down there. I'm in freak out mode and I cant stop it. I wish I could go get tested this instant. I guess this is just theraputic for me. I'm nearly positive that I have herpes, I'm just having trouble coping with it. Thank you for reading

Give yourself some time to come to grips with the idea. If it is herpes, you'll need some time to digest the information, gather knowledge to arm yourself with, and become comfortable in your own skin again.

Also, a number of people here have noticed that when you ask your doctor to "test for everything" often Herpes is left out of that. It's possible that your or your gf were tested for things OTHER than herpes if you didn't specifically ask for a herpes test.

I hope you get the test results back quickly ... sometimes knowing is better than not knowing. In the mean time take some logical precautions -- wash your hands really well every time you touch your penis, don't engage in sexual activity, and try to relax. If it is herpes, stress can cause more outbreaks!
