my herpes story

Question:
I thought i would share my story about how i got herpes. I was sleeping with this guy, we werent serious at all. I had previously been sleeping with my exboyfriend, but then it i was just sleeping with him. Well i went to the gyno on a monday and had all the routine test done. On a thursday I had sex with the guy and by sunday i was in the emergency room being diganosed with herpes. I thought my life was over. It was so painful, i had to have a catherder inserted and i was on some serious pain medicine. It was awful. I was too scared to call this guy to tell him so i had my roommate do it, i know realize how stupid that was but at the time i was drugged and feeling very awful and low about myself. well she told him and at first he was like okay i must have got it from my ex girlfriend when i slept with her last weekend. I was like okay cool. Well then the next day he calls me to tell me that there was no way he gave it to me cause he had the football trainer check him out. First of all they cant even check people for that and if they could no test would come back in 15 min. I know he was lying because it sounded stupid and then again this is also coming from a guy who didnt know what it was. Whatever. We didnt talk for like months and then i actually saw my test from the doctor. I ended up not having herpes 2 like everyone thought but herpes 1. He had gotten it from his exgirlfriend when she gave him oral sex. Well this made it alittle better but not really. For a few months i didnt have any more outbreaks but here in the past month ive had like five. I am under lot of stress though. I havent talked to him in months and probably will never. this is just a crazy story.

Answer:
Hi Kennedy:

Denial is a wonderful thing for some people, but not when it comes to this. I too got the same story, " it cant be me, i was checked". Well, why were you checked? AND did you know................. and so the story goes. It is a terrible virus to inherit, but you sound responsible enough to be educated about the do's and don'ts and to pass them on. The buck has to stop somewhere, and H carriers who admit they have it are the best buck stoppers in the world.

There are many websites dedicated to H, and they are all helpful. If you want to learn about it, its the best way. Knowledge is Power. It may raise many questions at first, but believe me there are answers. And if you need emotional support, find a support group. If there isnt't one available to you, post a note in a forum, giving your location. You will find someone to share your feelings with. The emotional is just as important as the physical. Please don't forget that. Tomorrow night there will be a live Webcast by GlaxoSmithKline, makers of Valtrex. if you go to
www.herpeshealth.com you will get the info. Its interactive by email, this should provide many answers, and info on Valtrex.

Remeber, Knowledge is Power.
all the best
