I'm a male and had unprotected sex 4 nights ago. Tonight I noticed widespread "whiteheads" and redness in my pubic area. There is nothing on my genitals or thigh, only under my pubic hair. There is minimal if any itching/tingling, and no pain, although none of the "whiteheads" have popped yet that I'm aware of. Is it possible for herpes to be in this area? What I read says penis/scrotum/thigh/anus....Could this be some sort of acne/folliculitis? I don't shave that area. Thank you.

Mine started on my legs then moved to the pubic area. If the symptons are starting to get itchy and tender, and it is herpes, then it will only get worse. I would say call and tell them you need an emergency appt. if you wait too long they may not be able to do a culture on the spots. Goodluck.

It has now been 4 days. Most of the whiteheads are gone leaving red spots. There is very minimal pain/itching. It looks like each spot is at the root of a hair, which makes me think it is folliculitis. Is it possible to get widespread pubic folliculitis from sex? I have a doctor's apt. tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out.
