Question:
When I found out I got herpes I was just devistated... and now that I have had it for over a year, I just want to get rid of it... I usually have an outbreak every month... I take the pills Valtrex but they give me really bad headaches. I don't want to take them any more, but hate the pain of the OB's so I need some help from people that are going through this.
It s difficult talking to anyone I know about this because it is my big secret.
I have a very high stressed job and drink coffee all too often. I am going to stop coffee and chocolate and see what happens... any other info on stoping these nasty outbreaks would be greatly appriciated!

Unfortunately its impossible to get rid of herpes, as its a virus and will basically be in your body forever. I myself had quite a few breakouts which seemed constant for like 4-5 months and then it just seemed to have gone dormant now for the past year. My opinion would be to keep your immune system strong, vitamins like C and E, continue to take valtrex (strange that it gave you side effects, I took it for awhile and didnt have any side effects at all) and hopefully your body will adapt and outbreaks will become less and less over time.

i think its just a myth that coffe induces outbreaks...........i drink coffee every day.........and only had one outbreak......i was diagonsed in July........but try taking vitamin C........i take about 2000-3000 millgrams a day
