Possible Preventive Measure
Question: I used to have "H" on left middle finger. I had freezing compound applied by dermatologist a long time ago. I never have "H" since. anyone experiencing outbreaks should see a dermatologist but first inquire if they use the freezing compound used to treat warts to treat the "H". This freezing compound "kills" virus on contact...atleast the spread of "H" would be prevented. Please let me know if this method has been used or known before. Thought it might be helpful to know about. My own doctor wasn't aware of this procedure, he had to call the dermatologist before he'd use this method. I was a bank teller and had to handle money, jobs require use of hands and to not work for 2 weeks during outbreaks caused alot of emotional heartache to face co-workers when I returned to work. I feel that this information given by me is on a need to know basis not for public ridicule! Thus, this treatment has really helped me alot! I have been contacting various health agencies with this treatment to see if the public can be made aware of this to help prevent the spread of this virus! Feel free to ask questions, I'd gladly help out! Answer: I called a herpes hotline to ask if its possible to have herpes on your hand and they said no. I have a spot on my left hand that is about the size of a pencil eraser. It came up around the same time I got my "supposed yeast infection" (thats what I thought at least) a couple of days later, my doc said she thinks it is definitely herpes (on my genitals) and only after that did I start to wonder about this on my hand. It has never turned to a blister, it just looks like a minor burn that is healing well. I thought it was the beg. of a wart forming as my daughter has a wart and i thought maybe i caught that. I started picking it even though it never was raised. It has always been basically flat. I picked at the edges of skin. Anyway, please do tell me more about your hand....I am very curious as I have children and if it is herpes on my hand how do I keep from spreading it to them? Thank you so much. Answer: I beg to differ with the doctor you called, they are very missinformed! I was a cocktail waitress in the late 70's. I picked up glasses from tables at the end of the evening and let me tell you there were lots of them. I could pick up four glasses at once with one hand to put on my tray. Never thought about the germs on the rims of the glasses! Someone obviously had a cold sore on their lip and the virus was on the rim of the glass. I had been making a hammock out of jute and microscopically the top layer of my skin where the virus erupted was enough for the virus to penetrate and cause my finger to be infected. I'm not sure exactly what night this occurred but the itch was the same as genital herpes that I have and the excact symptoms of aches. Eventually there was a red streak running up my arm and my mom told me that was blood poisoning that I needed to go to the doctor. The doctor popped the blister and ran tests, it was definately herpes! The dermatologist that I went to in the 90's told me that when the compound is put on the blister that it instantly kills the virus inside. It was painful but worth it. The idea of infecting myself elsewhere or my family was worth having this done. A few times when I felt the itch symptom I would take ice and put on the area...it's never came out since! That's 14 almost 15 years now!!! Answer: so it was an actual blister? This has stayed flat. Like I said, i thought it was the beg of a wart so while it was flat and "young" I scraped it gently and put bleach on it, just my own concoction.. wierd. But it hasnt changed at all. It appears that it is fading some. Answer: You cannot get "H" from a glass, toilet seat, etc. you get herpes from skin to skin contact....the virus dies when exposed to oxygen so even if someone had a coldsore and you touched the glass the virus wouldnt be able to live on the glass...... just letting you know that so people are not mislead :D Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
