Need Help!!!

Question:
Last May, I was dating a girl we'll call Kate. We had sex, oral sex, etc. We had a condom break one time. Occasionally, we'd have incidental genital to genital contact. Kate got herpes.

I was absolutely shocked, because I'd never had an outbreak in my life. I went to the doctor, they swabbed me, they blood tested me---- nothing. I came back negative.

I wound up moving for my job, and broke up with Kate. I kind of forgot about the whole ordeal. I didn't have signs, and I'd been tested and come back negative.

Recently, I started seeing another girl, we'll call her Kristin. I slept with Kristin last week, exactly 1 week ago today. We had a condom fall off while I was inside of her... and I think my penis was inside of her and unprotected for a few minutes...

Basically, I'm super worried that she might get herpes. I came back negative, and I don't have signs---- but I'm totally dumfounded as to how Kate could have gotten herpes if I hadn't given it to her.

I deffinitly need to get a re-test, because I've read that even the blood tests aren't always accurate depending on which test you get.

I'm just wondering what are the chances that I gave Kristin herpes, assuming - for arguments sake - that I do indeed have asymptomatic herpes?

I'm also wondering if I may have only ORAL hsv-1 or hsv-2, and gave Kate (the ex girlfriend) genital herpes that way, while giving her oral sex.

HELP!

John

Answer:
Hi John. Firstly, go to the doctor and get another test. I understand that tests can be incorrect, but that doesn't mean that yours was.

With regards to Kate. There are so many possibilities. She may have had the infection before you slept with her and it just hadn't come out yet. H can stay undetected for years. As the adverts say, she may not have had any symptoms or signs and then, for some reason, it happened.

Could she have been seeing someone else at the same time as you?

Does Kirsten know about your previous situation? Although it may be difficult, if you can talk to her about it, then do. The other question I have is, why do these condoms keep breaking? I have never had that problem, but then again, I always put the condom on the guy to make sure. (I hope you don't take offense by this :-~ )

Lastly, keep calm. You can't turn back the clocks, god knows if there was a way, I wouldn't be infected. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
