agree w/ most having no symptoms?
Question: ANY doctor or nurse I have ever talked to has said the same thing "If you had herpes, you would know it" - meaning that if you were having an outbreak it would progress in a semi certain way - and it would be painful to touch, pee ect - Also, I was told that the majority of women (2/3) have occasional to frequent outbreaks - the other 1/3 just has the primary outbreak.. What I do not understand is how all of these doctors disagree with the statistics about the 80 or so percent of people having it and not knowing it - Are they talking about people being unaware that they are contagious, like during shedding or something? It just seems like there is no way around this - all of the information contradicts the rest - Well right now I am waiting on blood work, again, I had it all done a year ago, then found out recently my asshole ex had been cheating so I want to be sure.. I dont have any symptoms, except I was having some slight almost burning around my "pee hole" But my gyno looked and said there was nothing there, and if that was an outbreak there it would hurt like hell to pee, and it didn't hurt at all, so we decided it was probably my new soap, and since I switched it did not happen again.. that was about 6 months ago.. Sorry, part of me just needed to vent, but I guess my question is would you guys agree that symptoms are not really noticable and most people wouldn't know they had herpes? Thanks for your thoughts, I should have my results by hopefully friday, as late as monday, that should be a fun weekend! I guess the waiting is the hardest part, right? Thanks again, Brittany Answer: Well the guy that I got it from didnt have an outbreak, and was shocked and baffled that he had anything when I told him that I had gotten herps from him because he has never had any symptoms. For me the first outbreak was terrible but only because the damned doctor misdiagnosed me as having razer burn, and then told me to put cortizone on the rash. That aggrivated everything and I ended up breaking out about 200 times worse. I really feel that if I would have left it alone I would have had a couple of little tiny pimples that wouldnt have turned into lesions or anything. So, according to that experience I really dont think that doctors really know much about herpes. They know what they read in the textbooks and thats just about it. The guy that I got herpes from is my best friend, I trust him with my life, and he would have told me if he knew had herpes. I think that some people probably do have some sort of outbreak but dont think anything of it because its not bad at all and might come across as an ingrown hair. Others might not have anything at all. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
