Exchange student, everything's foreign to me.... need help
Question: I'm an 18 year old exchange student and I think I just contracted herpes last week. I'm in a rather difficult situation as far as testing and treatment go. I live in a country where I stand out so going to the hospital for an anonymous visit isn't much of an option. I'm pretty sure it's herpes but I really don't know much about STDs. I've only had sex twice and the second time was a threesome with a guy and girl. The guy was a virgin and wore a condom, but the girl had had unprotected sex a couple of months before. She had sex with him first, and then while he was wearing the same condom (he didn't cum then), I had sex with him. I don't know what I was thinking... maybe I just saw the condom and thought it was safe, or thought he had cum and it was new... but can it be passed on that way? Not through direct skin contact but by means of a "used" condom? A couple of days after that I started to really itch and it burned when I peed. I thought it was just a urinary or yeast infection at first. Then two days ago I woke up with a terrible headache, felt like a migraine/bad hangover, i had a fever and my throat got really swollen and sore. And then tonight, after almost a week of itching, I saw a whitehead like pimple on my inner labia. I thought maybe I had just rubbed myself so raw from scratching and whatnot that I gave myself an open sore that filled with pus. But then I looked it up online and it sounds like herpes... So my delima is that for the next 4 months I do not have access to healthcare in this country. I think I can get hold of herbs and treatments like that but I really have no idea what to do. And do most STDs show up right away? From what i've read about herpes, it sounds like I can live with it. But I'm really concerned about something else I may have caught that won't show up. I don't plan on having sex for awhile now, I think I've acquired enough bad karm recently... but as for me having genital herpes, how do i have safe lesbian sex? is it only in my genitals that there is the infection, or can i give it through oral sex even if i don't have oral herpes? can it spread from the genitals to other parts of the body on its own? i've only had sex twice... i didn't even want to have the threesome and i can't say i enjoyed it. i just.. can't believe this is happening. i come from such a conservative family back in my country and there will be absolutely no support there. of all the things i've picked up on exchange, i never thought i'd get an std. any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks kit Answer: I am really new to this like this last week is outbreak one and the worst shit that has ever happened to me. It sounds like it may be even though you only have one blister,,,, that may just be luck I have like 10 or so. Also your flu sounds like a symptom. There are places like Planned Parenthood that do STD testing I think for free. U need to get to the dr if you think you have it to get meds as fast as possible. Some herbs to try are cats claw, lysine, and vit c and acidophilous is good if it is a yeast problem and zinc is good for all infections. You can go to Longs drugs for all of these. And yes you can spread it to a girlfriend so lay off the sex for now and yes it can spread on your body so dont touch it and wash your hands and shower alot, this will make it feel better too. If it gets really bad you can pee in the shower with the water running on you so you dont have to wipe cuz mine is that bad. And you can put and ice pack on them with clean paper towells on it or keep using new regualr towells. Also sitting in front of a heater feels good. Good luck Im on pain pills now that is how bad mine are right now. I got Valtrex, if you go to planned parenthood they can perscribe stuff and I think they will help you even though you have limited funds. Good luck... you may not even have it IN WHICH CASE consider yourself warned of how bad this can be and BE REALLLLLLY carefull!!! :!: Answer: Dont scratch it. It will spread because your body doesnt have the antibodies to fight it off. As for getting treated, I would go somewhere like a free clinic or planned parenthood. I would get tested for other STDs as well. The condom was protecting the guy but not you because the other chick had used it! So if she has HIV or any other STD YOU could have it. Also, a condom does not protect against herpes because genital herpes can break out anywhere a pair of boxer shorts would cover. Condoms only cover the penis. So we are screwed there. Let it dry out as much as possible. i found that wearing panties with some baby powder made it feel a lot better. I would go without panties whenever I could. As for herbs. I recommend getting cats claw. Add more fruits and veggies to your diet in order to build your immune system. Ive given up on the lysine vs arginine theory and eat pretty much what I want within reason. I eat pretty healthy. Is there any chance that you could talk with your host family about this? They might help you out if you have a good relationship with them. I hope that everything turns out alright for you. Good luck! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
