just diagnosed...how do you know who?
Question: I was just diagnosed with herpes yesterday. I had a bladder infection last week...a yeast infection this week...and a small red area in my pubic hair that form small white blisters. The Dr took one look and said "yep, that's herpes!" He did a swab test which he said could still come back with a false Negative report! But he says it's for sure herpes no matter what the test says!? He told me that there was no way of knowing how, when or who I got it from? He said that there are reports of someone getting genital herpes but not through sex? He also thought I was over reacting because I was sobbing and asked me what was I sooo upset about??! It's not fatal!! It's an annoying, inconvenient reoccurring rash! Thats it!!? I also read on the internet and he said too...that many people have the virus for weeks, months, years without any symptoms!? The only way to be absolutely sure is a blood test specifically for Herpes not the swab tests!? My rash is already scabbing and clearing up (Valtrex)! Is all of this true....can I pinpoint who gave this to me ? or could I have had it for a while? Answer: Your doctor is correct for the most part. Can you think back to when you had the yeast infection?? That was probably the initial transmission than if you has sex with someone (even with a condom) up to 21 days prior to that.
