Atypical symptoms or deluding myself?

Question:
Hi everyone,

This is simply my story. It doesn't seem terribly typical, and I'd like to hear from anyone about similar/dissimilar experiences. I don't need a diagnosis because I know that's what a Doctor is for. Thanks in advance for any help.

About a year ago, I got 2 or three pimple like blisters after shaving the top of my bikini line. I thought that they were possibly something to worry about, but since I wasn't sick and had no other odd symptoms I did nothing about it. I had just had a short fling with a pretty long-term friend and didn't think it was possible he'd gotten me ill. I honestly thought it was razor burn or an in-grown hair, and hadn't had sex with anyone else for over a year prior. I mistakenly ignored the situation.

After that, I was symptomless for a short while. But maybe within a month, I got a similar bump/blister on my upper arm. It seemed to initially be a complication of picking at my rosacea, but it took a while to heal. I've since gotten these pimple like blisters on locations all over my body, but for whatever reason I haven't had anything noticable in my actual genital area or on my lips (where I suppose the virus would have entered). Some are large and leave tiny scars (particularly on my arms), but I think that has a lot to do with me picking at them.

I get them all the time. I've gone for over a month without any new ones appearing, but sometimes I get a new one every couple of weeks for months at a time. They don't come in clusters, they don't really hurt, but I'm constantly getting isolated blisters on locations all over my body (mostly my arms, chest, and occassionally thighs and face... maybe one or two on my belly). The only reason that I think it's genital herpes is the fact that I once had a day or two (not along with the initial bumps) of discomfort when I urinated (basically like a UTI).

I started getting these blisters withing two weeks of the last time I had sex with this person I was dating. I hadn't had sex in over a year before that, and I was wondering if anyone else out there contracted herpes and then was symptomless for over a year. It's the only thing that really makes sense to me, but I may be deluding myself for friendships sake. I know I should see a Doctor, but I never really felt sick and donm't have insurance. My yearly gyno appointment is coming up, so I'll know conclusively then.

My atypical symptoms initially made me think I had little to worry about, but now I'm worried they could indicate something worse.

Please share your stories if you feel they may elucidate my situation.

Thanks.

Answer:
I went to to the gyno, but since their were no open sores they couldn't do a culture. However, the fact that I get bumps in such diverse locations indicated staph to the Doctor. I'm not entirely positive she's right is the thing.
Please...
Does anyone else experience mild herpes outbreaks on varied body locations? In particular their chest or arms? I've read a lot about people getting severe disseminated herpes, but that's usually commons in people with compromised immune systems. I don't feel sick, and I tested negative for HIV, so?
I'm on anti-biotics now, so if they clear up then it's probably not herpes. However, they've been terribly persistant and recurrent up until this point. So, I'm very doubtful.
Please respond if you've got any insight or similar experiences. :o

Answer:
take the western blot test at 4 and 6 mo interval to be sure whether u have it or not.

Make that up to 18 months.

Answer:
i read the post above and was wondering if someone could help he. A couple of weeks ago i noticed two small ingrown hair like pimples on the pubic hair below my belly botton. I popped them and one took longer to heal. I have gotton these pimples every 18 months or so since i was a child, but as a child i used to also get pimples on my chest and sometimes also these pimples in my nether region. as a child i mean 14/15. when i used to get them as a teenager they were actaully more frequesnt. I have always passed off these pimples because i had been getting them years before i ever had sex. do you think that i have herpes?

Answer:
To be honest, it is impossible to tell from those symptoms. Does these pimples itch or hurt more than average pimples? Just because you have pimples below your waist doesnt mean herpes - Go to a gyno or dermotologist if you are really worried.
