herpes
Question: I drank from the same bottle as someone who had cold sores. I dont know if it was herpes (std type) or not. Could I get this through sharing a drink?? Answer: Nick....herpes is herpes....type one or type two are considered STD's...genital herpes, or type two can be on the mouth as well....as type one, typical cold sore can also be genital. Either type...the virus CAN live off the body for a short period of time...thus it can be spread by using the same towel or washcloth and technically utensils such as spoons or cups. Athough that type of transmission is rare. If the beverage was alcoholic...the alcohol may have killed the virus....do you have symtoms??? Goodgirl No, this happened yesterday, the girl however seemed to be happy to share a drink, she almost insisted, until I had to tell her to buzz off. Yes it was alcoholic, should I worry...or am I making too much of it?? Answer: Worry will do absolutely no good....and probably would be a waste of your time. Unless the person pushing the drink had very obvious oral lesions...I wouldn't give it a second thought.... Answer: Worry will do absolutely no good....and probably would be a waste of your time. Unless the person pushing the drink had very obvious oral lesions...I wouldn't give it a second thought.... oh they were obvious, but I think her lips touched my bottle once, so Im not gonna kill myself over it, if I get it, I know where it will have come from!! Answer: Nick...Just an FYI....prompt treatment with antivirals early on will have a BIG effect on your reoccurance rate, if you are infected. Some Docs may be incline to treat an exposure prophylactically....If more did...maybe we wouldn't have so many people with so many reoccurances. At any rate if you have symtoms seek qualified medical advice. Oh I will, I just got tested and all my tests are negative...Im almost sure I dont have it but Im gonna have to wait 10 days to find out. If I do see anything abnormal, I will seek medical advice. Thank you for helping putting my mind at ease...Do you have herpes...if so...how did you get it?? Answer: Yes...My test was positive...I was married for 10 years to a guy who was unfaithful...many times. I've been divorced for 7 years and just went through a devastating breakup with a man I loved deeply. During the emotional fallout of this last relationship (lasted 2 years) I became symtomatic...severe flu like symtoms and pain...I never have had visible external symtoms....my blood test was positive. My ex-boyfriend denies symtoms, although I don't believe him. My infectin could have come from him or from my ex-husband. Goodgirl Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
