Anyone with Oral Hsv-2?
Question: This is for anyone who had or knows someone with only oral hsv-2. I think I have it and I'd like to hear of some other people's experiences who know they have it. Last summer I had one spot on the inside of my lower lip where one blister showed up and left after a few days. The blister came back in the same spot 3 more times with about 3 or 4 weeks between each one. Then I don't think I had anymore blisters that I knew of, maybe a couple really small ones in other parts of my mouth, but they didn't hurt and were really really small so I'm not sure if they were really blisters or not. The first blisters started about this time last summer and I just got a blood test about 2 months ago for it and it came back negative. Although, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Does this sound like the oral hsv2? Now I have one red spot on each side of my cheek on the inside of my mouth. It's not that big and doesn't hurt but it's not going away. I've read that oral hsv2 is rare and that you may eventually never have another outbreak but I'd like to know because I don't want to infect anyone else. If anyone has any experiences with this and thinks it is or isn't oral hsv2 I would really appreciate knowing. If you have oral hsv2 do you have a lot of outbreaks and are they usually blisters. And have you noticed having less outbreaks as time has gone by as I've read "show" happen and really hope that is what happens. Thank you for everyone's time in reading this. Answer: get tested. that's all you can do. Answer: As I said in the post I've been blood tested and the results have come back negative but the blisters were real and I have two red spots that won't go away. Just wondering if anyone out there has oral hsv2 and wondering what their experience/symptoms have been. Thanks for reading. Answer: get those blisters culture tested. If not you gotta get tested every 6 months for next 2 years to rule out herpes, like me. Or you can take a blood test now and have 80% chance it showing negative and pretend you have no herpes. Not saying it is but herpes is a tricky bitch and it takes a long times for bloodtest to come out positive. Answer: I thought you just had to get retested within 6 months to be sure??? What is all this about 2 years? Where did you get that info from? To Greenday, Also, It could be H1- get tested for that? Canker sores? Answer: I have heard 3 - 4 months for accurate test results and 6 months in rare cases - Actually the average I have seen is 3 - 4 weeks for 75% of people, not to mention the IgM recent exposure screen only takes within 3 days to I think about 2 weeks to develop. To Hopefully: I know you are hurting - but I feel like most of your posts are done out of frustration while trying to scare and bring down others. This is a supportive, non-judgemental place. Please stop. Answer: I thought you just had to get retested within 6 months to be sure??? What is all this about 2 years? Where did you get that info from? To Greenday, Also, It could be H1- get tested for that? Canker sores? 6 month is fine but like I said before min 1 year. 18months - 2 years to be absolutely sure(99%). I maybe guilty of representing worst possible scenarios. In this day and age of Axe herpe spray and desperate housewives, people need some scaring. So when they find out they are negative they can settle down a bit and not make the same mistake I made. Answer: I agree. I have not been diagnosed with H, and this virus causes me much frustration. I keep having strange symptoms and it seems that once this idea is in a persons head its hard to get rid of. I am an anxious person overall, and am about to be re-tested. But, a persons body develpos the antibodies by 4 months, rarely 6 months I have seen but it is not common or even posted on most websites. After 4 months the test is 98% accurate, and I do not think it gets any better, errors can always happen. Read more, it will help. Answer: By the way Greenday, I read your post - I used to get those kind of marks in my mouth, not blisters but either cankor sores or whatever it could have been - Once I cleared my head a little I thought of bite marks, just from stress and kinda chewing your mouth - know what I mean? Also, my doc said when you get sick you are more likely to have irratation in your mouth. I think you waited long enough for a test, most people show within 4 weeks - get another to put it at rest once and for all if you want, but I wouldnt worry. Also, it is extremely rare to have herpes IN your mouth - like 1% or something. I kinda freaked out a couple years ago and basically read every medical sight online, and have spoken with several docs. I feel like I am starting to be rational about it finally.
