VOX ad30vt

Question:
I'm thinking of purchasing this amp, so what do people here think of the amp? Earless dog doesn't seem to like it, but jamforchrist and the Steve like their vox's so what you guys and gals think?
Answer:
Vox has a nice tone. It definately stands out from its marshall, mesa, and fender brethren.
Definately worth the money if you're into a really british sounding amp.

This isn't just a vox amp, it's a modeler. So you don't just get the vox tone that demon hunter is describing, but a dozen others: Fenders, Marshalls, and some botique amps. I played one recently, and I liked the AC30/15 and some of the Fenders a lot.

Except that the amp emulators that the vox uses all sound very voxish. So in escence your getting a modeler that models amps and plus throws a heavy british accent into all of the emulations.
Answer:
I like the one I have. I have the AD30VT, just don't really use it much anymore. Led worship with it for a few months until I upgraded to a Peavey Classic 30. The effects in it are actually fairly nice, but if you're looking for tube tone you're not going to get it from this amp, regardless of what the PR department of Vox will try to have you believe with their hype. The distortions have that tinge of obviously digital sound to all of them to my ear. A pretty versatile amp, though, and does sound good when you crank it even.
Answer:
Depending on what you are wanting, then I would say yes. I will say from what I have heard the AC30 model sounds not very close for overdrive anyway to the original, but that assumed.
Answer:
They are not worth it trust me. If your looking for a amp with good distortion, DO NOT GET THIS ONE. You'll end up returning it in a few days like me!
Answer:
I would say go try it at GC or something and let yourself make that decision.
Answer:
Don't buy it! Buy a Peavey Triumph or Bravo. They're no longer made.

that being said, if we told you that Spam was better than prime rib would you still believe us?
Answer:
I've found the Vox AD30VT to be a pretty nice amp, especially for the price. No, it isn't perfect, but I've found it to be quite adequate, with good tone and plenty of volume.

that being said, if we told you that Spam was better than prime rib would you still believe us? Well I don't want to argue over something stupid, but in the past I've heard you try to pursuade many people into buying a tube amp.

Well really it depends on what you are trying to do. If you said you were going for perfect cleans i would say look at the roland jazz chorus SS. If you said metal i would recommend a tube amp, but many great metal guitarist use solid states like dimebag with his Randalls. I would say for most people that the Tube amp would be a better choice for overall sound on every front. I mean it is a personal thing.
