Digitech RP200

Question:
Are these quality multi effect pedals? I'm looking to get a wah, I was just looking at getting a cry baby wah. Is the wah on this half decent or not?
Second Question. How would it be in the middle of an effects chain?
Answer:
If you get the crybaby, get a power adaptor also. The 9v batteries go really fast in mine, espcially if you leave it on when you are not using it. I don't know what the difference is, but I put my wah after my multieffects precessor.
Answer:
I'd stay clear of the RP series, I don't find them to be very nice sounding.

Answer:
The RP series, the Behringer V-amp, and similiar Zoom products are horrible and/or very beginner quality. They are extremely hard to control and adjust, near impossible.
It doesnt have a wah, but if you want a good multi FX processor the Yamaha Magicstomp units are amazing. I bought mine for $90. It has many amp models, chorus, flanger, great reverbs, delay, and mic models. Also, it has a nice tuner when you hold down the on/bypass button down. It has USB for downloading new effects and editing effects.
I wouldnt recommend a wah from any multi effects pedals, even GT-8 and GNX or w/e its called. Standalone wahs are the way to go.
Answer:
The RB 200 is a decent pedal. Very adjustable, I have used one for the last 4 or 5 years.
I recommend you going to Musician's Friend or the Digitech site and reading through the instruction manual of the RP 200 and see if it's something you are willing to deal with. I often use the wah with a DS 1 pedal to give a very good Voodoo Child sound.
Answer:
Id say go The crybaby. Ive used the rp series since i started playing it was ok but I could never get sound I wanted out of it and second ive gone to using single effects and ive been happier with me amp and TS9DX{modded} then the whole rp series combined. So go with the crybaby.

I have changed the battery in my Crybaby exactly once in um... 3+ years.

Answer:
Wrong, you can use the three switches for different effects, but they have to be in order (which can be easliy modified using the USB/software).
Its called "Performance Mode", you hold two switches down simultaneously to activate it. All three switches become different effects (the one you had selected before activating, and the two on either side of it in the presets). I havent checked, but I bet they are blendable too.
I rarely use performance mode, but then again I've never needed to. I have a separate delay and EQ pedal, and thats about all I use.
Answer:
Ahh... new implementation I guess. My RP2000 can do that, but I didn't think the smaller models could.
Answer:
He was asking about the MagicStomp, not the RP.
BTW, the MagicStomp I is no longer available, but the Magicstomp II is and it is much more responsive.
Answer:
Hah. Sorry Bob. I was talking about the MagicStomp. I was look at II as well. Now, can it be used in the middle of an effects loop? Or will this majorly degrade your tone?
Answer:
Effects loop is fine. Once I get my new amp i'm gonna put all my effects in the loop.
Answer:
I use a Digitech GNX2, and the wah is passable. I had the Digitech GSP2101 studio tube preamp, paid $900 for it and the wah was really really bad....the newer pedals are much better...although I run mine into a tube amp, which helps....~Shawn
