Question: I have relized that since I use my amp's OD, and when I get this delay, that will be a problem. I mean, sure, I could go back to my J&H, but I would much rather not have to worry about that. So my question is, is there any possible way that I could build an effects loop into my amp? I know that would probably cause major surgury, but I am willing to accept that. So? Answer: it's possible, i'd research it a bit, you shouldn't do very much surgery though if you don't have some kind of training in electrical wiring and a good understanding of how to read a schematic... Answer: I mean, I would probably have it done my a guitar tech at the local guitar store, but I was just wondering. And I am working on how to reac a schemetic right now Answer: Originally Posted by jamforchrist123 I mean, I would probably have it done my a guitar tech at the local guitar store, but I was just wondering. Trust me Answer: But like what would I need to do? I am very unknowledgeable in this area, like I have no idea what I would need to do. Let me take a ballpark guess though... Do I just need to somehow whire in an input and an output before the effects section thats already on the amp? I know you guys are going to start laughing after you read that, I justr have no idea what I am supposed to do/need Answer: there would be many ways of doing it... but the easiest i can think of would be to sever the connection for the channel you would be using, and use the effects loop to complete the circuit... although i'm not sure it would help you much... but i'm not sure how the amp's overdrive will effect the delay or affect whatever... i'm not seeing how there's a problem in the first place... Answer: Well, since I know you are supposed to put the delay after the OD so it delays the OD, not so it can overdrive the delay, so I would need it to be able to be put after the amp's overdrive sicne I use the amp's overdrive. I hope that made sence Answer: you're gonna have to hardwire it in to the amp, i'm no expert on amps... but... that's what it seems like to me, i really know nothing... maybe major tom will come on later and he might can tell you something... he seems to know a bit about wiring and stuff.. Answer: From everything I have heard, Inserting an effect loop requres cutting into the circuit board. Answer: you know that you don't HAVE to have an effects loop to use your delay? It doesn't matter that you use your amp's dist. A lot of people prefer to use their delays and volume effects in the effects loop, but again, it's not THAT huge of a deal. I usually put my Echo Park in the input, simply because it's easier, and with the amount of drive I use, it doesn't make much of a sound difference. -Nick Answer: I know that, its just I have OCD so everything needs to be perfect. But I will give it a bit (when I get it) to see if I can really tell the difference. Answer: I don't think that you're seeing this the same way. There truly is no need to have an effects loop on the Valvetronix. There really isn't anything redeeming to be accomplished IMO. That money could be better spent on an external footswitch for your Roland. I own the DD-20. There is some tone suckage, but it's really not bad enough to warrant hacking open your amp. I would actually reccomend maybe getting a looper instead? If it REALLY is that big of a deal, just take it out of your chain with the looper and stomp it back in when needed. Answer: Huh? What roland? I was just meaning to have a effects loop in my amp so I could use my effects after the OD rather before (like my chorus nad my soon-to-beDD-20) I will jstu forget this idea for now. I will see what needs to be done after I get it Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
