Question:
A while back I inhereted a set of Marantz Imperial 7 speakers from my dad. They are a 100watt pair of unpowered speakers with 12" woofers and a seperate mid speaker and tweeter. I am thinking about building them into a cab to use with my guitar. Anyone got ideas about what to do for a head. I would like one that is stereo and cheap, preferably about 75 watts so it wont peak out and blow the speakers.

Did you just get the speakers without the original cabs? I was thinking it'd be classy (if they are in the original cabs) to leave them there and get an old tube stereo amp to pair with them.
also, from what I understand, audio speaker wattages are reported a little differently than guitar speaker wattages. I don't know how this works out, but you might look into that.

Yea, they are in the original wood cabs and in pretty good condition. That may be an option. I had thought about using a stereo amp.
