DigiTech GNX4
Question: I had my heart set on getting the Boss GT-8, but now I'm looking at DigiTech's GNX4. The things about it that appeal to me are the recording/looping funcions, that it has guiar AND bass amps, and the built-in drum machine. While all of this soungs great on paper, I would like to her from those of you who have had real world experience with this workstation. What are the ins and outs of the GNX4? Answer: I don't have the GNX4, but I have the new GNX3000 which is similar in many ways with the GNX4. Check this place out for some feedback from those experienced with the GNX4. Just from my very recent experience with the GNX3000, I am having a real blast with this and it sounds great. I've run this through the board the last two weeks instead of micing my tube amps and it is just awesome, especially to the audience. I believe the primary difference between the two is the 3000 is a newer model with some added patches and it has a learn a lick feature as opposed to the looper (which is a great tool). Answer: I have the GNX2, and while I haven't compared the 2 with my ears, I'm thinking that the two sound the same except the GNX4 has lots of other feautures you may or may not need. I use the GNX2 in front of a tube amp thats set clean. Sounds pretty good to my ears. I'm sure if a guy had time and money to try and try and try you could come up with analog stomp boxes that sound better....at least a bit better. But I personally don't have the time or money for all that. ....~Shawn Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
