"starter" effects rig HELP:)!!!!!!
Question: Hello all . I am in need of some serious help/advice etc. I have spend a number of hours in front of this 'puter trying to figure out what I need to start off my rig. I have just started the "collection process". I am wanting the delirious/Hillsong United sound . Thus far, I have Boss TU-2, Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer, Fulltone Fulldrive II Mosfet, and Boss DD-6 Dig Delay. Now, what else do I need?? I don't want to duplicate what is already here. Do I need a reverb? or does the delay do that? What power source do you recommend? Help What Ernie Ball Volume (Mono or stereo)? Oh I just purchased a Gibson Les Paul Standard and Vox AC30 Head/Cab. Is it a custom classic vox ac-30, cause if it is it has reverb. Answer: Originally Posted by wesley7777 Is it a custom classic vox ac-30, cause if it is it has reverb. Gosh, hahahaha so it does Thanks for saving me some money. I suppose I should probably get around to looking at my amp head Answer: How long have you been playing, and how many of those effects listed above do you actually have right now? Answer: I am very jealous...Les Paul and a Vox...your a lucky person. Answer: if you have all the effects you listed you're good to go. especially with a vox Answer: Originally Posted by wsucougarx Hello all . Really, you don't "need" anything else. You've got some good pedals, a killer guitar, and a brilliant amp. You have no problems One thing you could be missing is a wah pedal. Crybaby 535Q is fun and versitile. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Only Alive Really, you don't "need" anything else. You've got some good pedals, a killer guitar, and a brilliant amp. What's it like? -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy How long have you been playing, and how many of those effects listed above do you actually have right now? I have been playing acoustic for about a year now and absolutely love it. However, upon watching the Hillsong/Delirious United Praise and Hillsong's God Reigns DVD...I kinda of converted. So to answer your question, I actually just received my guitar and amp 3 days ago and have not even played So I'm stuck in the "honeymoon" phase and I am trying to get all the equipment I "need". If i were playing a lot of classic stuff a Teese wah would probably be a better choice for it seems to have more of a vintage vibe than fulltone wahs, but i still perfer the fulltone. You don't need any. Just start playing, develop your style, play around with your amp, see what it does. I only play with a bit of reverb and delay and that's it. But I highly suggest that you wait until you've defined yourself as a player before buying lots of effects. Have fun. Just play around with the stuff first, i have a fulldrive and still haven't found all the sounds that comes from it and i have had it 5 months. Same way with my mesa amp and i have had it a year. You don't want to get to much cause you might have the tone you want and then add to much stuff and loss it. Answer: Originally Posted by Building429_Boy You don't need any. We try to go out and get the absolute best things but in actuallity it's all about us praising God. Thanks, you're absolutely right. I need to develop that my playing style first.
