Pedal Problems
Question: Hey, I dropped my Digi Tech RP 80. (Pic Below) And now my LED lights aren't lighting up here is what needs to light up (Yellow Squares) And here is my drum machine lights, yellow is the one that doesn't light up So what should I do? Answer: i'd first do a factory reset if this is possible. otherwise, you may have broken it. It didn't make a difference. It may just be a wire going to that little circuitboard there. You might find someone with a soldering iron and multimeter and see if they'll help you fix it. Here is a pic of the circuit board the wah wah/volume pedal thingy here is the problem something in the yellow section is stopping me from pulling it out but I am afraid if I try to force it out, I'll ruin my pedals. IE crack the board. My drum machine works as well as all my effects, I just can't see them. But I can't tune my guitar because of the LEDs. Answer: It looks like what is keeping the board from coming out would be connectors on the back of the unit; take the nuts off the jacks, and any screws that may be holding a jack or connector to the back panel. You may have to kinda slide it forward as you pull it up after you remove those. Answer: If all of the LEDs fail to light up, I suspect there might be sort of IC (perhaps with memory and/or a decoder) that drives all the LEDs, similar to what is most likely used to control the other display (with the numbers). I've never seen such a device but that doesn't mean it's not out there. It might make sense because you could reduce component size & cost if you drove the LEDs with serial data (single data line, as opposed to an IC pin for each LED). Yellow is Guitar, Red's are amp out puts, bule is headphones, and pink is power there are no nuts and bolts to unscrew. Here are a few close ups. But its not all the LEDs just a few. So if I can get inside do I just replace the 'IC' ? Thanks for all your guys help Answer: I got it out with the help of my dad. See attachement Answer: one more Answer: Well, I emailed Digi Tech they said to ship it to them, they'll try to fix it for $35 shipping. SO thats almost 1/2 the pedal price plus shipping. I'm gonna buy either the Boss Ds-1, MXR Phase 90, or the Boss super overdrive. I'll just use the RP 80's drum machine for pratice, And get something else for effects. Thanks For All Your Help. I'll See You Later. Rocker2006 Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
