Peavey Valveking or Classic 30/50?

Question:
peavey classic 50 combo or valveking combo 112
which one works better with pedals? (delay, distortion, etc)
i play stuff like the lead dcb and chris tomlin players.
which one would give me that FULL lead sound?
which is better for clean?
which is better for distortion?
i plan on buying some pedals to play with also.
any other amp recommendations are also welcomed
Answer:
As always, my advice is first pick an amp, then worry about effects. I'm not a big fan of distortion pedals. Even crappy amps generally have better distortion than good pedals. Try to find a music store where you can go and try out these amps. Pick the one that sounds best to you. Don't worry about effects at this stage. Once you get an amp, figure out which effects you want and why. If you don't understand EXACTLY what a pedal does, don't buy it. Pretty much all effects will sound good with pretty much any amp.
Answer:
In general, good pedals will sound good with either amp. They're both nice amps, and should react quite similar to each other when you put pedals through. Try both and find out which one you like best.

Answer:
both of those amps are very different in terms of their basic sounds. IMO the C50 is a great amp, and perfect for most worship settings. In terms of how it reacts with pedals, I dont' really know because the amp OD is pretty good so I've never really listened to different ODs through it.
Answer:
From personal experience with both, I'd take the classic 50. Btw, in the classic 50, are you looking at the 2x12 or 4x10? Old models, or new (post 2004)?
Answer:
not sure which models, but im looking into used amps. im todl that they dont make these amps anymore so i wanst sure if i could go into a music store and try one

Answer:
If you want a good lead sound without a DS pedal you might like the Valveking. Don't let a DS pedal be your motive to have a good sound. Try one or the other without a pedal and see which one you like best. I have the valveking and I feel no need for a pedal.

Answer:
as for the pedals, i dont really need distortion, what im really interested in is delay. as for now i still cant decide between the 2 amps. any one have sound clips of the amps? yourfavoriteband's guitar sounds nice.

Answer:
I can't decide beetween which one I should get. I play alot of worship, but I would really like high gain amp tone for my other stuff. I would like to not have to use pedals for the distortion, which I would need to do for the classic 30 (I assume). I am hoping to be able to play both of them at WWBW soon, but could somebody that has either of the amps record the clean and a few different dist. settings for me? that would be very helpfull.
woops, I am so observant eh?
I still would like awnsers to this thread since the other one didn't really help me much.

Answer:
But I guess I should say my main style (that I play most) is heavy-ish rock. Kinda like Kuttless. It will be used for worship, but I guess waht I really want is High gain. Sorry, I should have said that
Answer:
is there's a certain Kutless album/song I should listen to in order to get a feeling of what you're looking for? I'm not really that familiar with Kutless or their sound
