New amp! Eeeeeeeeee!

Question:
My birthday was on the 31st, and my dad saw fit to buy me a new amp! It's a Peavey Triple XXX 112 and it is very nice. But...not exactly what I want for my style. Not a big fan of the digital effects so they're wasted on me. I'll be going in tomorrow to trade it in for a Peavey Classic 50. I prefer the simplicity and all-tube sound of the Classic 50. To be honest, the Triple XXX is simply too much amp for me. I don't really need all the options.
But tomorrow I will have the amp I've been pining for over the last year! Huzzah!
Answer:
212 or 410?
Answer:
Huzzah! Huzzah!
Excellent. I bet it'll be great.

Answer:
I thought the XXX was all-tube... I could be wrong though.
Congrats, Dan!

It is all tube.
Answer:
I'd much rather have the sheer distortion off the Triple XXX, but yay for your Classic 50!

After going into the store today, where he didn't have any Classic 50s in stock and he won't be able to get any in for months because of the hurricane, I decided to get the Classic 30 head with a Classic 212 cabinet, both new out this year. I think I'm going to prefer this setup to the Classic 50 anyways. The amp should be in this week at which point I'll trade in the XXX.

I've just always loved amps like the Fender Deville and Crate Palomino 16 that just has a light distortion, and maybe put a Tubescreamer in front of it, and you have almost endless possibilities.

Congrats - that oughta be a great amp with the 2x12, plenty loud for anything. Hope it serves you well !

It'd be more appropriate to play an amp named "XXX" for Metallica anyway...
Personally, I'll take the Classic 50 over the XXX.
Answer:
And I remain one of the few players on CGR that use amps designed for metal, hardcore, and general loud, high-gain raucous.
