Power source for pedalboard

Question:
I vaguely recall a suggestion on here a while back that someone who already had a power adapter for a Zoom multieffects unit (or something like that) could get some product and use the Zoom's power adapter plus this other product to power all of the other stompboxes on his board.
Anyone remember this suggestion or know what the extra product to get might have been?
Answer:
im thinking you're referring to a "daisy chain?" this can be attained through the use of any device that has another power output jack used to supply anything it's linked to. I believe the boss TU-2 has this option. you also seem to be thinking of some sort of splitter that will give and recieve power? I dont know of the multieffects unit you speak of, but im wondering how a peripheral addition can give the option of supplying something else, as opposed to just using power. i dont know a whole lot about this, as shown above..but some specifics would help us (me?) find what you're referring to. good luck.

Okay, I found the post I was thinking about:

It sounds like, in this thread, the Zoom is just a regular multieffects unit with no power output, but someone suggests that the power adapter from the Zoom can be used with some kind of a daisy chain to power all of the pedals.
So, I guess my question is: if I already have a not-otherwise-used power adapter (standard 9v), can I just go buy a daisy chain and connect it to the adapter, or is there something else I would need to buy besides the daisy chain?

there's the Roland/Boss style, which requires a TU-2 or similar pedal
and there's this, which would convert the single plug of your adapter to a 5-plug

That's exactly the kind of thing I thought the post might be talking about. Thanks for your help.
