footswitch
Question: I'm gonna be buying an engl screamer 50 all valve amp in a few weeks. The amp doesnt come with footswitches and can handle 2 dual footswitches (1 for changing channels and another for changing master volume and turning on reverb) sadly the ENGL footswitches cost $70. I've been looking at a hughes and kettner one with leds. My question is, will the footswitch work? cos the users manual says its better to use just engl footswitches but I suppose this is just trying to get people to spend money. Answer: What inputs do the footswitches take? Using real Engl switches will assure you that they will work with the amp, but a generic may also work, depending on how the circuitry is wired. I bet a generic will work. Answer: its stereo jack. Actually it should work cos someone else I found has the same amp and footswitch. Answer: You can get a two-button stereo footswitch at Musician's Friend for $25 or less. I did this with my Vox Valvetronix amp. Answer: I got a single generic footswitch for my Yamaha for 15 bucks. It works. I bet you can just get any 2 button footswitch with a 1/4 in jack, and it would work. Good luck. Answer: Originally Posted by Rainer. The connection should, of course, be 1/4" stereo. I built one for my Vox Valvetronix amp... If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy a generic one. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
