Old Kustom head...
Question: I found this on ebay and it looks pretty good. I have read that only the older kustoms are good, so this one shouldn't be bad. HC is down right now, so I don't relly know much abut it, but it has five days left on it, so I have time to research on it. I would have to get a cab for it, but do you think it is worth it? Answer: woops, forgot to put the link : here Answer: If anyone would want to bid on it, they would use the "buy it now" because it's the same as the opening bid... So.. You probably don't have 5 days. Answer: I thought about that, but still. Answer: I don't think that would be classified as an "old" Kustom head - its from the 80's. An "old" one would be like from the late 60's - early 70's with the tuck and roll upholstery. Some of those are all tube I guess, but a lot of them are SS... This one has 2 output tubes, but what about preamp tubes? I wonder if it is a hybrid; ss preamp / tube power amp. It may be a great amp, but one from that era with a couple built in effects like Flanger (!?). Unless you have some insider info, personally I would look elsewhere. If you look at his history, that amp went for $192.00 the first time, apparently its not exactly a sought-after amp, although it may well be a sleeper. Answer: I have a early 70's ss 250 wat bass head and the matching 18" enclosure. Tuck and roll and everything. It sounds bad to the bone. Almost better than my friends Ampeg. I wonder what mine's worth. Probably not much. I Answer: i don't see why people say that new kustom's aren't very good, their new amp (whatever its called) won the guitar one award. this is what i want. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
