I want a crisp distortion
Question: I'm looking for a pedal with some crisp distortion like the intro in Rain Down by Delirious. I don't want like long sustain, I want it to be short. I hope you guys understand what I mean. Can someone tell me how to get this sound? Answer: well considering that the intro riff is palm muted... the question of sustain is null. Answer: gah I have a hard time palm muting. then if that's the only thing you have to do...can someone send me a link that has like pictures or video how to palm mute including a description. If anyone knows amp settings to get a sound close to it, please tell me. Answer: Palm muting is one of the easiest techniques in guitar, but you have to develop your own technique. All it is, is resting the palm of your picking hand on the strings you want to mute, then strum/pick the strings like you would normally. Get your palm AS CLOSE to the bridge as possible, because that is a vital part of palm muting. Well, that actually depends on how heavy you want the mute to be. -Nick Answer: Originally Posted by Only Alive Well, that actually depends on how heavy you want the mute to be. -Nick And the amount of pressure you put on the strings will change the sound.
