Effects loop hooked up backwards. problem?

Question:
i got my cables mixed up and hooked up my dl 4 delay backwards in the effects loop today and played with it like that for about 20 minutes. i noticed it was building up this weird feedback noise and i would have to turn the delay off. i fixed the wrong connection and it sounded fine. im just wondering if that would cause any damage to my amp. if not from one time, would it eventually cause damage?
Answer:
I don't get what you mean...you mean you mixed up the cables in send and receive?
Answer:
yes. i ran the output of my pedal into the effects out and the input of my pedal to the effects in.
Answer:
I'm surprised you got any sound at all.

Doubt it would hurt it at all, I've done that too with no ill effect.
Answer:
Yeah, you shouldn't have gotten any noise at all...that is why I was confused.
Unless it was loud enough to do damage to the speakers, I can't see it being a problem.
Answer:
you wold probably damage the pedal itself as opposed to the speaker/amp. tom morello from Rage Against the Machine did this with his wah, just because he liked the sound it made..but i dont think you did any damage to anything.
