annoying twang sound
Question: I'm not very knowledgeable about guitar settings or pedals so I don't know if I need a pedal but I was wondering about something. When I play the electric at our church and I play single notes there's a twang sound when I pick. What I'm trying to get is a smooth sound so I don't hear the twang everytime I pluck when I'm like playing the melody during the song or chorus. Basically, when I play it sounds choppy. Is there a pedal out there that makes the sound more smooth or "creamy"? We have a Marshall JCM 2000 401 DSL I think. Or are there specific settings I can use to get rid of the twang? Answer: what guitar are you using? you might try to roll the tone knob on the guitar (if there is one) down alittle to smooth out the pickup output Answer: It's the church electric and it's a schecter scorpion. I don't know why I can't find it anywhere though. It's shaped like the c-1 series guitars and it has a coil tap. But sometimes I use my Taylor acoustic in it too and that doesn't have a tone knob. Answer: is there a presence knob on the amp? you might try to roll off the treble or the presence knob. Answer: it could be your pickups on the guitar. Answer: I've never heard of a presence knob or seen one...sorry. But I'll try your guys ideas when I have the chance. Answer: i'm pretty sure the DSL series amps either have a presence or resonance knob. either way, this very much smells of an EQing problem Answer: could it be that you ar plucking way to hard? If you plack a note really hard (well, sometimes) it will make a twanging sound. Answer: considering the amp your using, i bet its your guitar pickups Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
