new amp

Question:
alright, building429_boy's thread almost covered it, except i want an amp about a 50w (tube amp), gets great volume and distortion/overdrive. Except i play harcore, death metal/heavy stuff, and that can fill a 100x100 ft room (like i mentioned in ipod or new guitar thread). I was suggested to start a thread on this so here we go. Any suggestions, and my price range is $250 or less (maybe 300) for a used amp.
Answer:
How about a Peavey Valveking? Either that or a used Peavey Ultra/XXX. All of those are high-gained amps.
Answer:
Here is the cheapest ValveKing I've seen, but the $50 shipping is a killer. I've been watching http://craigslist.com as well.
Answer:
Peavey Valveking or Peavey Ultra. the valveking sells for 400 but im positive that you can get one for 350. the Ultra is no longer made but it is an awesome amp for metal. you can get one of those for about 300. i have the valveking and it can cover pretty much all music(ecpecially heavey stuff).
Answer:
Yeah, ain't gonna get many high gain amps for $250 except the occasional Ultra and Valveking. $350-400 is more sensible to me.
Answer:
50 watts would easily be loud enough for that size room. even 30 watts would do it.
Answer:
how about marshall, i keep hearing they're supposed to be good, but expensive?
Answer:
There aren't any new decent Marshalls in your price range.

ya 250 is kinda cheap, but used remember. But the thing is when i get my new guitar that will be 500 +, so i might not be able to afford the amp at all, so i should wait until i got enough for a real good amp?

Then there aren't many decent used marshalls in your range. Maybe a used Valvestate 8240.

I demo'ed a Vox Valvetronix AD 15 yesterday that was loud enough and dirty enough with the gain turned up to make me want to leave the store (we liked it much better when we settled on some less distorted sounds, but that's just a matter of taste). It models Marshalls among other things. The AD 30 has twice the wattage and a larger speaker and would probably suit your needs for under $250.
Answer:
It's also a solid state amp with one preamp tube with some crappy effects. Probably be better to get a real tube amp instead of the ADVT series.
Answer:
hmmm, alright, thanks
