Wah Pedals
Question: Ok, so I'm wanting a Wah, I have a Crybaby Classic that died... (I'm thinking of giving it a burial) I'm wondering what are some good choices. I have played the Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah, and I really liked that w/ the marshall amp. I have seen the J. Hendrix wah, but don't know if its worth it. Suggestions? -Andy Answer: I wuld suggest a vox wah. From what I know, they are very good. I also have played the demon wah, I really liked that one to. Answer: the Jimi Hendrix wah...well at least the fuzz/wah...isn't that great. Answer: I second the vox - I used to have one and I've been wishing ever since to get another one. Answer: You might also look at fulltone, budda, and REAL MCcoy wahs. This all cost more than the demon Answer: send your crybaby classic to Keeley (robertkeeley.com) and have it modded, it will then work, and sound way better than the other wahs (just check the reviews on harmony central, they speak for themselves.) Answer: I like the budda wah. Its true bypass so it doesnt suck your tone. That being said, Keeley does alot of great stuff, I have his modded Blues Driver and TubeScreamer...Im going to send my DS-1 in at some point, get an analog delay and some day try the bd-2 fuzz freak when I can afford it. But I simply don't want to spend $300 on a wah pedal...a new keeley vox is around 299...i'm sure its great, but im happy with my budda wah. Answer: Sweet, thanks for all the imput. Now lets see...where did I put my wallet... Answer: Consider Teese. A member on here (PianoMan) got one. Answer: i am partial towards budda wahs. they're very smooth and rich from what i've experienced (which means, i've played through one). i'm not too sure about teeses. when it comes to spending >$150 on a wah, some people prefer the teeses over the budda, but i haven't played through a teese to tell you what i think. good luck! Answer: Yeah, I really like my Teese. It has taken a bit of time to get used to it, as my old Vox had an easy switch, but from my experience with Crybabys, it should feel much the same. Just a smoother and larger sweep. The sound is excellent - very smooth, and there are several sweet spots, as opposed to the one that my Vox had. I would highly recommend it if you can afford it. Answer: I would go with a vox and maybe instead of getting it modded by keeley. Get it modded by PacifiCustom Pedals. Vocal mod baby! Answer: RMC teese all the way...e-mail him and he'll help you find the wah that suits you. I've got the pic wah Answer: I hear that Teese RMCs are quite good, but I would go with the wizard unless you use only single coil equipped guitars, as those are what the RMCs were made for. (Or at least the RMC1, but since the RMC2/3 are quite a bit more expensive...) Answer: Originally Posted by PRS_Guy Ok, so I'm wanting a Wah, I have a Crybaby Classic that died... Suggestions? -Andy Though I haven't played the weeping demon I've heard that it has the deepest sweep of any wah ever, and I've been meaning to check it out myself. Any chance you'd get like to get rid of that dead wah? I'd take it off your hands if so. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
