Celestion Seventy 80 Guitar Speakers?????
Question: Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows about the Seventy 80 Celestion Speakers? Do they have any bass? The Resonance Frequency is 95Hz. Is that bad? I noticed that the Celestion G12T-75's have a resonance frequency of 80Hz but other than that they both seem fairly similar. Anyone have any experience playing through Celestion seventy 80's???? Thanks. Matthew. Answer: i've got them in my SX200C. my amp has a ton of bass, yet i'm not sure if it's more from the amp or the speakers. but i do know when i run my amp's line out into "normal" (non-guitar) speakers, there's a significant lack of bass. Do the Celestion 70/80's sound good? The reason I ask is that they come with a cabinet I'm thinking about getting and I'm a bit leery about the sound quality. I like alot of bass, little mid and clear highs. Will these speakers do that? Thanks for your help. Matthew. Answer: that they'll do, on mine i have trouble getting good mids out of it, but bass and highs come really easy. so i'm set for hard rock, but lacking when i want more mids. Answer: They're stock on my Traynor YCV40. I'm pleased with my amp, but the quality of sound is subjective and different for everyone. It's a hard question to answer. I think you can control a lot of it with EQ. It's a decent speaker if that's what you want to know. But, we don't know anything about the cab, so it may sound totally different than our amps. Factors affecting it also include: whether or not the back is closed or open; ported or not; woods; size; etc. Answer: I too have an SX200 with the 70/80s. The amp has what I would consider to be excessive bass, even as an open back. Some of that could be the curve of the amp, but at least I am certain the 70/80s are capable of producing much bass.
